Thanks to JFDI, we have a state-of-the-art platform, giving us an advantage over our competitors.
The Challenge & Objective
PUTNAM, formally PHMR, wanted to arm their client’s representatives with a digital platform that would enable them to communicate the value of products more effectively. The realised solution had to support an extensive library of evidence and research materials with filtering and grouping. Access to data had to be instantaneous and secure for every subscribed customer.
JFDI’s solution
To address all requirements, JFDI has built a bespoke content management platform. Users log into their tenancy area and start by choosing a drug and disease (indication) they wish to explore content about. The platform immediately offers a pre-prepared value message for a given drug and disease, with click-throughs to underlying peer reviews and substantiating evidence. Moreover, every value message is supported by cited referenced materials. Users can explore their content within the platform, follow links to any research papers or download evidence for further referencing.
Additionally, the system allows information to be copied directly to other applications to help representatives prepare their external presentations. The platform also has a review facility where users can notify the information provider (curators) about the proposed changes. The home page acts like a dashboard with personalised messages and notifications. User role management makes the platforms’ administration easier to maintain, and a gamified onboarding training facility introduces new users to necessary functionality and the best ways to consume the published data.
Digital Value Platform
JFDI built a bespoke content management platform to meet all PHMRs commissioned requirements. Upon first logging on, users are greeted with a welcome screen to their tenancy. It provides an overview of the content they can expect, and their latest personalised notifications based on the actor role they are assigned. From there, users can choose a drug and indication(s) they are interested in.
The platform immediately offers pre-prepared value messages for a given drug and disease with a click-through to underlying, substantiating evidence, including rich media support. Moreover, reference materials cite every value message, including originating research content, as an optional bibliography.
Catering for objections and mistakes
Another feature of the value platform is the ‘Objection Handler’ facility. End users can disagree with the published value messaging and submit reasoning behind their objection. This usually promotes starting a new review session for the curation team, which results in either modification of the value message or providing counter information directly in the Objection as an official Response.
The platform has extensive feedback and review capabilities should the user spot an issue with any content. Any published materials reaching the end user, when published, go through rigorous evaluation and review. But if a typo or issue is noticed, users can also notify the team on each Value Message using the direct ’Feedback’ facility.
Taking reference materials beyond Digital Value Platform
After exploring the content within the platform, users can download the evidence for further reference. Additionally, the system allows information to be copied directly to other applications to help representatives prepare external presentations.
Meeting content accessibility at all times, the platform conforms to WCAG 2.1 standards, including a dark mode, to help optimise energy consumption. Integrated application design themes advise on colour palettes that follow strict contrast ratio guidelines.
ACCESSIBILITY AND COLLABORATION
The Digital Value Platform is an evidence-driven bibliography and citation solution fully accessible to any user. Compliance with the WCAG standards means that this web application follows regulations related to user accessibility. Additionally, JFDI developed an intelligent tagging component to boost content searchability via actor roles assigned to users such as ‘Sales’, ‘Distribution’ and ‘Buyer’.
BUILT-IN REVIEW COMPONENTS
The Digital Value Platform essentially has three-level content validation measures. First is a review component. All value messages and resources behind them go through rigorous testing to ensure only correct and well-designed materials are available to the consuming end user. Second is the objection handler facility. Finally, a user can feedback suggestions about a value message, where they notify the content team directly to promote rapid change.
GAMIFIED ONBOARDING SUBSYSTEM
JFDI knew that the Digital Value Platform could be overwhelming for unaccustomed users. To mitigate this potential problem, a gamified onboarding experience was developed. It is turned on by default to capture that first login experience and then becomes available again on demand. The system has two modes.
First is an interactive, curated journey through all areas of the platform. It allows users to familiarise themselves with the platform and its location and demonstrates various functions, including training course configured ‘scroll to’ and ’click’ events. All completed training programmes are marked on their profile so users can quickly identify training materials they have yet to finish.
Should they want to repeat any training course or need ongoing guidance, an inline help option is also available immediately. When enabled, all training tips across all courses surfaced on that page as information bubbles. On hover, it expands to deliver contextual information about a given section so users can get quick reminders.
